Indianapolis (PRWEB) March 04, 2014
Yamaha Artist Services Indianapolis today announced the addition of concert and marching percussionist Jeff Queen to the Yamaha Percussion Artist Roster.
Queen, who began playing percussion at a very young age, participated with several top-notch drum and bugle corps, including the Canton Bluecoats, Santa Clara Vanguard and the Blue Knights. He returned to the drum and bugle corps world as a caption head for the Carolina Crown and Colts corps in the early 2000s. Queen holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition, along with a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance, both from Butler University. He currently serves as the Percussion Coordinator for Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana, and is a faculty member at Butler University and Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jeff is a world-renowned percussionist and a pivotal addition to our artist community, said John Wittmann, director, artist relations and education, Yamaha Artist Services Indianapolis. His dedication to music education and performance is inspiring, and will help us further Yamahas mission to pass down knowledge to the next generation of percussionists.
Queen is an original cast member of the Tony and Emmy award-winning Broadway show BLAST. In addition to performing across the world with the group, he appeared on several national television shows, including The Late Show with David Letterman, The Kennedy Center Honors 2000 and BLAST, productions that aired on PBS stations.
I chose Yamaha for the companys commitment to education, the quality and durability of their products and the people who work there, said Queen. Yamaha not only has some of the best drums and instruments on the planet, but they also have the most professional staff in the industry. Couple this with their commitment to the marching arts, including Bands of America, Drum Corps International, and Winter Guard International and you have a perfect match. It is an honor to be affiliated with such an amazing company.
